Frequently Asked Questions

Our most common questions on surveys, pricing, lead time, warranty and technical topics.

We've grouped the questions we're asked most often about ÇevikSan by topic below. If you can't find the answer you're after, don't hesitate to call: 0553 608 69 10 — where we can assess something over the phone, we'll do it right away.

General

Is the on-site survey and fault diagnosis really free?

Yes. We come to your machine anywhere in Izmir and diagnose the fault on site, at no charge for the survey. A fee only applies to the repair or manufacturing work you actually approve — if you don't approve, your part is collected and returned.

Which areas do you serve?

Our repair, overhaul and manufacturing services are focused on Izmir and the surrounding region. Our workshop is in Konak, Mersinli, in the city's industrial heart, and we provide on-site service across every district of Izmir, including Bornova, Işıkkent, Pınarbaşı, Çiğli AOSB, Kemalpaşa, Torbalı, Menemen and Aliağa.

Do you only do repairs, or do you manufacture as well?

Both. We manufacture pneumatic and hydraulic cylinders, pistons and hydraulic power units in standard and custom sizes, and we repair and overhaul your existing equipment in the same workshop.

Do you service every brand of equipment?

Yes, we don't discriminate by brand. We service domestic and imported cylinders, pumps, valves and power units alike. For older models where parts are no longer available, we build an equivalent, manufacturing the part in our own workshop if needed.

What are your working hours?

Our workshop is open during regular weekday business hours. For urgent faults we work flexibly — let us know your situation and we'll plan around it.

Pricing & Quotes

How do I get a quote?

Just reach us by phone or WhatsApp. A photo of the part and a few basic measurements are usually enough for an initial assessment. A firm quote follows once we've removed and measured the part.

Why can't you give a firm price without seeing the part?

With hydraulic and pneumatic parts, the actual damage is often quite different from how it looks from the outside. A price quoted sight unseen ends up either too low or needlessly high. We measure, see the real condition, and quote accordingly. The inspection itself is free.

What happens if I don't approve the quote?

Your part is collected and returned to you. We don't charge for the teardown or fault assessment. We want you to decide with full information, not under pressure.

Should I repair it, or have a new one made?

That decision becomes clear after inspection. If the body and shaft are sound, an overhaul is usually the more economical route. If the damage has gone further, new manufacturing gives a longer-lasting result. We quote both options with pricing and leave the decision to you.

Lead Time & Delivery

How long does a repair take?

It depends on the scope. Jobs like a seal-kit replacement are often finished the same day or the next; if shaft manufacturing, chrome plating or tube honing is required, it can take a few more days. We confirm the lead time once we've stripped the part down.

How long does manufacturing take?

A cylinder in a standard size, with materials on hand, can often be completed in a few working days. Large diameters, long strokes, stainless steel or other special materials extend the timeline. For power units, component sourcing also affects lead time.

Do you prioritise urgent jobs?

Yes. We prioritise businesses whose line is down. Let us know when you call that the job is urgent so we can plan around it.

Do you handle on-site installation?

Yes. You're welcome to collect the part and fit it yourself, or our team can install it on site anywhere in Izmir and hand the system back to you fully working.

Technical

I don't have a technical drawing, just the broken part. Is that enough?

More than enough — it's the most common way our jobs start. We strip the part down, take every measurement, and manufacture an exact equivalent. No brand, model or drawing is required.

Can you build an equivalent for a foreign-brand part?

Yes. Rather than waiting weeks for an imported part, we manufacture an equivalent matched exactly to your existing part's dimensions and connection type. Since the mounting dimensions are preserved, nothing on your machine needs to change.

Should I use pneumatic or hydraulic?

It depends on the force you need. Pneumatic is fast, clean and economical, well suited to moderate forces. Hydraulic is the answer when you need very high force or controlled motion under heavy load. Tell us about your application and we'll work out the right choice together.

When do I need a stainless solution?

In food, chemical, treatment, marine environments, or anywhere subject to heavy washdown. Chlorinated cleaning agents or salt air also make stainless worth considering. Describe your environment and we'll tell you honestly whether it's needed.

The same fault keeps coming back — what could be causing it?

A repeat fault is usually not about the part itself but about the system: contaminated oil or air, misaligned installation, incorrect sizing, excessive pressure, or a worn wiper seal. Our overhaul report always includes a root-cause assessment.

Warranty & After-Sales

Do you offer a warranty?

Our manufacturing and repair workmanship is guaranteed. If a fault traceable to our workmanship appears under correct installation and normal operating conditions, we fix it free of charge. Off-the-shelf components we use are covered by their own manufacturer warranties.

Do you offer scheduled maintenance?

Yes. We set the visit interval based on how intensively your facility operates; each visit follows a checklist, takes measurements and reports on system health. It's the most economical way to reduce unplanned downtime.

What do I get after the service is complete?

Along with your tested, working part: a breakdown of the work carried out, a root-cause assessment, and recommendations to prevent it happening again. If we identify any safety risks, we report those in writing as well.
